The STEEGER works

The Steeger building was built at 82 ń 86 Oberdenkmalstrasse in Wuppertal-Barmen in Germany at the turn of the century. Thiel & Wurms had been using the building as a production works for suspenders and belt buckles until Ernst St–ckermann, August Wagener and Wilhelm Steeger acquired it from the Wurms family in 1939. At that time, they were running an engineering company with 12 staff for building braiders.
On 29th May 1943, the building suffered damage from an air attack which was so serious that production had to be transferred to neighbouring Hasslinghausen.
At the beginning of 1950, production started again in the partly rebuilt factory and in 1973, the whole building was taken over by the current business K–rting Nachf. Wilhelm Steeger.
With the fundamental renovation which was undertaken in 1984, partial conversion and two-storey machine hall extension in 1991, the building now has a useable working area of 2300 m2. This area is now used by 25 staff to design and build high-performance braiders to meet all the technical requirements of braiding technology.
Equipped with all the latest machinery, the company is able to carry out all the necessary work in house, which is why it able to ensure that its machines are always manufactured to a high standard of quality and reliability.
