Short production times

The frames of our machines are optimised to suit the various braid body types, while the actual braiding carrier system is chosen based on the braiding body and material. Steeger offers units designed for operation with 4 to 52 carriers.

The thread guide elements are made from wear-resistant materials and optimised for the actual application. The production output depends of course on the chosen braid body, while the haul-off speed can be programmed in the machine control system. This allows for fast and traceable changes in production, further shortening the manufacturing time. In addition, there is no need for time-consuming checks after a product change or machine reconfiguration, and tooling times are cut down to a minimum. All inputs can be logged through an interface, so that the entire production process is documented down to the last detail. This is of great advantage in a market where process documentation is becoming an ever more important quality control instrument.

Continuously adjustable and extremely cost-efficient

Thanks to their versatility and modular design, our units meet the stringent requirements of the packing and seal industry. Apart from round packings, Steeger machines can be used to produce 2-, 3- and 4-diagonal as well as spiral braiding bodies. Steeger packing braiders can be optimised for any type of yarn from leading suppliers, including high-tech yarns made from aramid, PFTE silk, carbon, glass and ceramic fibres. In all our models, both the drive and haul-off speed can be continuously adjusted. This means that the machine can be run at speeds suitable for even the most delicate materials. At the same time, the units are designed for easy adjustment of the braid density.

Steeger packing braiders are exceptionally cost-efficient. As the braiding bodies can be exchanged as the need arises, producers only need to invest in one basic machine that can then be configured for a wide range of products. The control systems of our machines are fitted with advanced components that meet all applicable safety standards.
