The protection of your personal data is important to us. In this Data Protection Policy, we explain how we use personal data collected during visits to our website, and how we protect personal data against misuse.

2. Erfassung personenbezogener Daten, Art und Zweck von deren Verwendung

a) Visit to our website

When visiting our website, the provider of the website collects and stores information that is automatically sent to us by your browser in server log files. This information includes the browser type and version you use to access our service, the operating system of your device, the internet provider you use, your IP address, the date and time of the server request, the website from which you accessed our website, and any external links on our website accessed by you.

We store this data in order to enable you to access our website and services, and to evaluate the availability and security of our system. The data is only stored for as long as you keep our website called up in your browser.

We are entitled to do this, as we have a legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in the collection and processing of this data, for the purposes outlined above. Your data is never used to identify you as a person, and is not stored together with any personal data you might submit to us.

 

b) Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser on your device when you visit our website. Cookies contain information that identifies the browser you use the next time you visit our website. Cookies do not contain personal data and therefore do not identify you as a person.

We use cookies to make our web pages more user-friendly, efficient and secure. For this purpose, we use session cookies that are only active while you browse our web pages. Session cookies are automatically deleted the moment you exit our website. We also use persistent cookies that remain stored on your device for a defined period of time before they are automatically deleted. They enable us to identify your browser and any settings and inputs you made during a previous visit to our website.

We also use cookies for statistical evaluations, in order to improve our website and services. When you visit our website, we are thus able to see whether you are a returning visitor or view our content for the first time. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted at the set expiry date and time.

We are entitled to do use and process data in cookies, as we have a legitimate interest in accordance with article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in the collection and processing of this data for the purpose of providing our customers with a properly working website and for the improvement of our services.

By default, all browsers accept cookies. If you do not wish that cookies are stored on your device, you can disable this option in your browser settings, or configure the settings so that you are notified each time a service attempts to place a cookie on your device. If you deactivate cookies on your device, certain functions of our website might no longer be available to you.

 

c) Google Analytics

To make our web pages more user-friendly and customised, we use Google Analytics to generate pseudonymized user profiles. Google Analytics uses targeting cookies that are stored on your device and can be read when you re-visit our website. We are thus able to recognise and count return visitors and to analyse how often our web pages are called up by certain user groups. The data is processed in accordance with Article 6 (1) lit. a GDPR (data processing based on consent).

The data about your visit to our website is collected in cookies, sent to a server operated by Google in the USA and stored there. As we have activated IP anonymization on our website, Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to Google servers in the USA and truncated there (as Google participates in the EU-US-Privacy Shield, this procedure is in compliance with Article 45 (1) GDPR, see also A.8; for more information on the scope and purpose of data collection by Google Analytics, see https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=gb&gl=gb). We have entered into an agreement with Google LLC (USA) for the processing of data pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. Under this agreement, Google shall use the data only for the purpose of evaluating the use of our web pages on our behalf and for generating reports on our website activities.

When you visit our website and agree to the use of Google Analytics cookies, Google will place the following information in cookies on your device: Name, purpose, expiry, _ga: this information enables us to count the number of persons who access our website following a previous visit.

You may withdraw your consent to the use of cookies at any time. This can be done in various ways:

Simply let us know that you no longer consent to the use of cookies.

Alternatively, select the appropriate settings in your browser. Please note however that you may no longer be able to use the full functionality of our website if you disable cookies.

Furthermore, you can prevent Google’s collection of cookies related to our website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Our website uses the demographics function of Google Analytics. This function enables us to collect and evaluate information about the age and gender of the users of our website, along with interests they express through their online travel and purchasing activities. This function is however unable to identify you as person, as the above data is obtained from Google advertisements, and from use data from third parties. You have the option to prevent the collection of demographic data by configuring your Google account settings accordingly, or by deactivating data collection by Google Analytics as described above.

 

d) Contact form

When you complete and submit the contact form included on our website, the data you enter in the form is sent to us and stored so that we can deal with your query or request. In this context, we only need your e-mail address and the actual message. All other inputs are voluntary. Your data is never made available to third parties.

Should you contact us through the e-mail address given in the imprint & disclaimer section of our website, all personal data submitted by you in your message is stored by us in order to deal with your query or request.

The personal data is processed in accordance with Article 6 (1) lit. a GDPR (data processing based on consent). You may withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. Please note however that this will not affect the processing of your data up to the time of your withdrawal of consent. As a rule, we store your data until your query has been dealt with or you ask us to delete the data, or until the time of withdrawal of your consent to the collection and processing of data, subject to statutory filing periods.

 

e) WPML plugin

Our website includes the WPML plugin for multilingual display of WordPress pages. In the plugin cookie, only data that is relevant for the plugin such as your last language settings is stored. The cookie does not include personal data and can thus not be used to share such data. We are entitled to use WPML cookies, as we have a legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in the collection and processing of this data for the purpose of providing our customers with a properly working website and for the improvement of our services. f) Google Web Fonts

On our website, we use Google Web Fonts to provide visitors to our website with a consistent and attractive online experience. When you visit our website, the relevant fonts are automatically loaded to your device so that text and fonts can be properly displayed. To do this, your device is connected to Google servers, which means that Google knows that your IP address is being used to access our website. We are entitled to use Google Web Fonts, as we have a legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in ensuring that our website is displayed in a consistent and attractive manner to users.

3. Your rights

In accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation GDPR, you have a number of specific rights concerning the processing of your personal data:

 

a) Right of information

Under Article 15 GDPR, you have the right to obtain from us free of charge information regarding any personal data pertaining to you that is stored by us.

 

b) Right of rectification

If the personal data stored by us is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to have your personal data rectified and/or completed by us, pursuant to Article 16 GDPR. We are then obliged to make the necessary corrections without undue delay.

 

c) Right to erasure

Under Article 17 GDPR, you have the right to have your data erased without undue delay.

 

d) Right of restriction of processing

Under certain circumstances, you are entitled to demand restrictions regarding the processing of your personal data, pursuant to Article 18 GDPR.

 

e) Right to data portability

Under Article 20 GDPR, you may be entitled to obtain your personal data from us in a format that makes it easy to reuse your information in another context, and to have this data transmitted to another data controller of your choosing without hindrance, provided that this is technically possible.

 

f) Right of withdrawal of consent

Under Article 7(3) GDPR, you are entitled to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time.

 

g) Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Under Article 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if you think that the processing of personal data relating to you by our web service infringes the European General Data Protection Regulation. Normally, such a complaint should be lodged with a supervisory authority in the state of your habitual residence or place of work.

4. Right to object

If you do not consent to the processing of your personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest on our part pursuant to Article 6(1) lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of your personal data, subject to the provisions of Article 21 GDPR.

5. Data security

For security reasons and to protect personal data sent by you to us, we use SSL or TLS encryption. With encryption, the protocol section of the address in your browser window changes from "http://" to "https://", and a padlock icon is displayed. Encryption prevents that third parties can read the information sent to us.

6. Amendments to this Data Protection Policy

We reserve the right to revise our Data Protection Policy from time to time, in order to amend it to changes in law, or in line with modifications to our web services. When revisiting our website, you might need to check whether there are any changes to our Data Protection Policy that might affect you or that you do not consent to.
